Fished a flooded river Wharfe (04/07/04) and managed 7 Barbel and lost 3. The river was 3ft up when I got there, then it dropped a foot, then it rose another 3ft or so. In the end it became too difficult to hold bottom, even with 6oz leads and even more difficult to land the fish!
Don't ask me why the 6lb fish looks that big. It looked bigger on the bank too and I weighed it twice! |

Left : The Barbel on the left was part of a small catch (2 Barbel, 1 Chub & a 1lb 8oz Grayling) from a rising River Wharfe. There was loads of weed coming down the river.

Night fishing on the Trent (28/06/04)
Had 4 Barbel and 1 Bream. Lots of tip activity, 3 fish came off and lost one when the hooklength sheared on something sharp. |
